Halalan 2016: Schedules of 2016 Elections

The schedules of 2016 elections has been resolved to prescribe the following calendar of activities in connection with the May 09, 2016 national and local elections known as “Halalan 2016”. This will be the next presidential election in the Philippines.

The forthcoming Philippines 2016 Election is the Philippine Presidential and Vice-Presidential election of the country, this election will determine the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Halalan 2016 will be a part of the 2016 General Election where elections to the Senate, House of Representatives and local government above the barangay level, including the ARMM shall be held.

The 2016 elections schedule and other important date related to “Halalan 2016” below are the calendar of activities and periods of certain prohibited acts in connection with the May 9, 2016.

August 31, 2015 (Monday) Last day to allocate elective seats for Member, House of Representatives and other local elective positions.
September 12, 2015 (Saturday) to September 30, 2015 (Wednesday) Holding of political conventions by political parties to select and nominate official candidates for all elective positions. (Sec. 13, R.A. 9369 in relation to Section 29 R.A. 6646 and Section 28, R.A. 8436).)
October 12, 2015 (Monday) Last day for overseas voters to file application for transfer of registration records from the overseas registry to the local registry. (Article 48, Comelec Resolution No. 9843 dated 15 January 2014)
October 12, 2015 (Monday) Last day to file petition for exclusion of an overseas voter from the National Registry of Overseas Voters (NROV). (Section 8, R.A. 10590 as implemented by Article 40, Comelec Resolution No. 9843 dated 15 January 2014).
October 12, 2015 (Monday) to October 16, 2015 (Friday) Filing of Certificates of Candidacy for all elective positions. (Section 13, R.A. 9369.)
October 12, 2015 (Monday) to October 16, 2015 (Friday) Suspension of filing of application for registration, transfer of registration records, validation, etc.
October 31, 2015 (Saturday) Last day for local voters to file applications for registration, transfer of registration records, validation, etc. (Section 4, Comelec Resolution No. 9853 dated February 19, 2014)
October 31, 2015 (Saturday) Last day for overseas voters to file applications for registration / certification as overseas voters, transfer of registration records from one Post to another Post. (Article 47, Comelec Resolution No. 9843 dated 15 January 2014 and Section 3, Comelec Resolution No. 9862 dated 01 April 2014).
October 31, 2015 (Saturday) Last day for overseas voter who transfer from one residence to another within the same Post and Country, to request for a change of address. (Article 45, Comelec Resolution No. 9843 dated 15 January 2014).
November 16, 2015 (Monday) Last quarterly meeting for Election Registration Boards (ERBs) to approve/disapprove applications for registration, validation, etc. (Section 4, Comelec Resolution No. 9853 dated February 19, 2014)
November 16, 2015 (Monday) Last day for all Resident Election Registration Boards (RERBs) to act on all applications for registration / certification as overseas voters. (Section 3, Comelec Resolution No. 9862 dated 01 April 2014)
December 01, 2015 (Tuesday). Last day for the Commission to announce the specific mode of overseas voting per country/post. (Sec. 23, R.A. 10590 in relation to Section 29 R.A. 6646 and Section 28, R.A. 8436).
December 05, 2015 (Saturday) Last day to conduct raffle of accredited party-list group for purposes of determining the order of their listing in the official ballot. (See Comelec Resolution No. 9467 dated June 15, 2012 as amended by Comelec Resolutions No. 9572 dated December 06, 2012, and 9577 dated December 12, 2012)
